09.09.2012  Week of International Cooperation

On September 9-15, 2012, Yaroslav-the-Wise Novgorod State University and St. Petersburg Academy of the Post-Graduate Pedagogical Education hold a joint Week of International Cooperation dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of the Russian statehood and Russian-German Year of Science, Education and Innovations.

Welcome bread-and-salt for guests of the Week

Two international scientific conferences will be the central events of the Week. The first one will take place in Veliky Novgorod on September 10, 2012 - International Scientific Conference on the results of the Tempus-IV project “Networking of Partner Universities in the Multilevel System of Training and Retraining Professionals in the Sphere of Educational Management”. The project is implemented by eleven universities of Western and Eastern of Europe since 2008. The conference will start with the Ceremony of Awarding Prof. Rudolf Keck, from Hildesheim University (Germany) with Honorary Doctor of NovSU Diploma. Participants of the conference – 50 scholars from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine, Belarus, Korea and Russia - will discuss issues of higher and secondary education management.

Novgorod part of the Week will finish with a traditional reception “International Cuisine” where students of the NovSU Department of Education, Technology and Crafts present national cuisine of Russia, Germany, Latvia, Ukraine and Belarus, etc.

On September 12, the Week will continue its work in St. Petersburg with a Congress of the International Academy for the Humanization of Education “Concepts and Strategies of Continuous Education in the International Context”. The International Academy for the Humanization of Education was founded in 1995 on the initiative of scholars from Western and Eastern Europe with the support of the Russian Academy of Education to make its own contribution to the process of democratic renovation of educational systems. At the present, the Academy unites 180 outstanding scholars from 21 countries of the world. The International Academy for the Humanization of Education conducts research in field of Education, Psychology, and Educational Management. Ten NovSU faculty members are active members of the Academy.
