Рассматриваются формы художественного времени. Биография человека становится художественным приемом и философемой — человек в потоке времени. В художественном мире главный топос — сибирский провинциальный город, основной хронотоп — хронотоп встречи. Город, сибирские реалии, детали быта даны в аспекте бытового и экзистенциального времени. Но в центре всегда историческое время. Писателя интересует способность или неспособность человека противостоять своему времени; он отстаивает идею самостоянья человека и величие стоицизма.

The paper examines the forms of artistic time in the work “Growth Rings” by Siberian writer Vladimir Kostin. A person's biography becomes an artistic device and philosophical — a person in the flow of time. In the artistic world, the main topos is a Siberian provincial city, the main chronotope is the chronotope of the meeting. The city, Siberian realities, details of everyday life are given in the aspect of everyday and existential time, with the main focus on historical time. The writer is interested in the ability or inability of a person to resist his time; he defends the idea of self-permanence of man and the greatness of stoicism.
