17.05.2014  NovSU medical students brought in order graves of soldiers lost in Afghanistan

On 16May, students of School of Medical Education went to the Western Cemetery to bring in order graves of soldiers lost in Afghanistan. The students cleaned the place and painted benches and fences.

Since 2001, NovSU School of Medical Education keeps in touch with the mothers of the soldiers lost in Afghanistan. There is even a Memory Lane made in their honor. In 2003, a small book based on collected data about the soldiers was published, and in December 2013, they placed a stand on the Lane. Recently a deck in front of it has been flagged. Leadership of NovSU School of Medical Education organized tea drinking with their students and the mothers of the soldiers several times. On the last meeting, the mothers asked them to help looking after the graves of those soldiers whose parents were no longer alive.

In April 2014, Tatyana Efimova and assistant director Natalya Chuprinko visited the Western Cemetery together with Nadezhda Karpova, mother of one of the  dead soldiers, and identified the right graves.
