22.05.2015  Days of Slavic Literature and Culture at NovSU

On 24-26 May, Novgorod State University conducts a series of events dedicated to the Days of Slavic Literature and Culture.

On 24 May at 07:00 p.m. at the “Candlemas in Antonovo” Center (Antonovo, the Temple of Purification), a concert of the “Ladoni” bandleader - guslar, Maxim Gavrilenko (Moscow) - will take place.    

On 25May at 02:00 p.m., the reading-hall of the NovSU School of Humanities research library will become the venue of an opening of the book exhibition “Scribes as Bees - Both are Hard Workers. Ancient Russian Book Miniature”. 

On 26May at 11:00 a.m., a Round Table “Only Writings Possess Memory’” will take place at the reading-hall of the NovSU School of Humanities research library. NovSU professors, philologists Victoria Didkovskaya and Tatyana Shmeleva will present their reports on “Ancient Book-Learning: Before and Now” and “Cyril and Methodius Translations as the Basis of Slavic Literature” (Cyril and Methodius are the Holy and Equal-to-the-Apostles, Doctors [Apostles] of Slavs). The priest of Antonovo Church of Purification, Evgenyi Zaytsev will make a report on “Veneration of Cyril and Methodius”. The head of NovSU research library department, Natalya Morileva will make a revue of the book exhibition “Scribes as Bees - Both are Hard Workers. Ancient Russian Book Miniature.”
