08.09.2015  NovSU student took part in the Summer school on cooperation in the Baltic Sea Region.

The Summer school “The Power and Governance of the Baltic Sea Region” was held at Humboldt University (Berlin, Germany) on 17 - 28 August.

 

Representatives of Baltic region countries - Germany, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, and Russia - attended the Summer school. Novgorod State University was represented by Lyudmila Babarkina, a postgraduate student of the Institute of Economics and Management, and Assistant Pro-Rector for social development and educational work. 

Currently the Baltic Sea region is a place of intense and mutually beneficial cross-border cooperation. The Summer school included lectures, seminars, and meetings with representatives of German authorities on various topics, in particular governance and policy development in the European Union, the local government in comparative perspective, cooperation on environmental protection in the Baltic Sea region, relations between the Europe Union and Russia in a regional context. In addition, Lyudmila Babarkina made a report on the topic “Relations between Russia and the European Union among Young People”, which has a success with listeners.
