28.11.2016  Visit of NovSU professors to the University of Hildesheim, Germany

On 19–26 November, Elena Zhukova, the dean of Philology Department, and Irina Ushakova, the assistant professor of the Department of the German Language, visited the University of Hildesheim. The visit took place within the framework of the dual-diploma programme. They met with Professor Beatrix Kress, as she is responsible for the program and discussed prospects for further cooperation. Several working meetings have been held with colleagues from the Institute of Intercultural Communication. The NovSU representatives visited classes and talked to German students about possibilities of the dual-diploma program and about the Novgorod university.

 

Students from NovSU are studying at the University of Hildesheim during this semester, shared their first impressions on the campus life in Germany.

 

In addition, NovSU professors gave classes for German students and students participating in the dual-diploma program. Shartner Dietrich, who studies this semester at NovSU within the framework of the dual-diploma programme, joined the class via Skype. Elena Zhukova narrated about the cultural assimilator and together with the students analyzed several cross-cultural situations. Irina Ushanova suggested students to analyze the travel-blogs as an example of intercultural communication. In December, a return visit of professor from the University of Hildesheim will be held to NovSU. Xenia Vozmiller will give classes at the NovSU Faculty of Philology.
