27.09.2016  Novgorodian festival "RoboCenter-2016"

Last Saturday, 17 September, NovSU AeroNet laboratory took part in the Children Festival "RoboCenter-2016."

"We showed the children and their parents opportunities and advantages of using quadrocopters in forestry, land management, environmental monitoring, tourism, photography and video filming. AeroNet market is still evolving and today's students will become its mass consumers within a few years, and we’ve already seen their interest in drones, but robots are more popular"- the head of laboratory’s research Nikolai Kurmyshev commented.

Despite the very "young age" of AeroNet Laboratory (it works less than one year), two pilot projects were already carried out with good prospects for Novgorod region’s economy. The results demonstrated the possibility of a significant increase in the efficiency of land plots’ cadastral registration, forest management, fire situation monitoring, and forest conservation activities based on data of unmanned aerial photography and GLONASS technology.

According to the experts of the Federal Program "National Technological Initiative", the expected economic effect of using technology of unmanned aerial photography can be about 300 million rubles per year for the average region of Russia. Today AeroNet market is in a formative stage and has high growth prospects.
