28.10.2016 Associate Professor of Sociology and Bilingual Education visited The College at Brockport, State University of New York
In the end of October, Associate Professor of the Department of Sociology and Bilingual Education from the NovSU School of Continuous Pedagogical Education Elena Lukovitskaya gave a lecture “Mother's capital in Russia” within the mandatory course “Gender and Culture”, by Professor Barbara Lesavaya. In addition, during the visit, Elena Lukovitskaya jointly with the professor of the University of Rochester Tatyana Bakhmeteva prepared and conducted the section “Representation of a Woman in Art” at the conference “Dialogues in Seneca-Falls: Gender, Economy and Entrepreneurship”. In this section, she made a report on “The Representation of a Woman in Soviet Movies (70s)”, based on the analysis of the gender relations in the movie “Russian Field”, where the lead character (by Nonna Mordyukova) is working on the collective farm as the group leader of the female tractor brigade.
