26.11.2012  European Commission conference “Tuning in the world: New Degree Profiles for New Societies

NovSU delegation headed by the Rector Viktor Weber participated in the European Commission conference “Tuning in the world: New Degree Profiles for New Societies” which took place in Brussels on the 21st-22nd of November, 2012.

The conference provided an overview of the developments of Tuning in different regions around the world – Russia, Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the US - and of the use of Profiles and Meta Profiles.

The International Conference brought together more than 600 representatives of Europe, Russia, USA, Latin America, Africa and other countries and continents. Opening addresses of Yan Truszczynski, Director General, DG Education and Culture and Klaus Schmidt, DG Development and Cooperation, were followed by overview of  the developments in different regions by co-coordinators Julia Gonzalez (Deusto University) and Robert Wagenaar (Groningen University).

The world Tuning family has got 13 Russian member-universities with the NovSU being one of them. 

The project results were presented by Tuning experts who put their attention to competencies and Reference Points development process, student workload as a core quality element and linking Tuning to national education policies. Sharing their achievements and experience of Tuning implementation, speakers emphasized the value of joint work all over the world for further international collaboration and education quality sustainable development.

The cornerstones of the event were two round-table discussions with high-level participants to the following topics:
