05.05.2017  Festival of international students at Novgorod State University

Last Friday, the 28th of April, the annual Festival of national songs and dancing was held in the auditorium of Polytechnic College. The Festival became the final point of the 11th Week of International Cooperation, which took place at NovSU on 24-28 April. Traditionally, international students from preparatory faculty took part in it. There were representatives of six countries: Morocco, Angola, Uzbekistan, Jordan, Ghana and Côte d'ivoire. All the performances were assessed by the jury, which consisted of university faculty members and students from preparatory faculty.

Besides international students, representatives from Russia also took part there. The student of Polytechnic College, Anastasiya Saltikova,  performed the song "In the upper room", and Dmitriy Kuznechev danced on the song  "Go out on the street". 

International students from different faculties of University supported their younger followers. However, they not only supported the participants, but were up on stage. First-year students from School of Medical Education sang the song "Horse" by composer Igor Matvienko, and the poems of Alexander Shaganov. The student from Côte d'ivoire presented the song of his own composition - "Faire le mouv" - " For the sake of love". The audience also was able to see his videos. 

In addition, poetic compositions about Russia "The miracle word" and "Birch" sounded in the performance of preparatory faculty’s students, who are the members of the Russian language center and culture at Novgorod state University. 

As a result, diplomas for "Best dancing" got the representatives of Angola and Jordan. Diploma for "The most interesting performance" got participants from Ghana. Another one got students from Morocco, who played guitar.
