02.05.2017 NovSU Students are Among the Contest Winners for Participation in “University and City” Workshop in Krasnoyarsk Two NovSU students majoring in History of Culture are among the contest winners for participation in the “University and City” workshop in Krasnoyarsk, organized by the Oxford Russia Fund and Creative Industries Agency. Nelly Vasilyeva, the 1st year graduate student, and Tatyana Ilyina, the 3rd year undergraduate student, are in the prize list from the Russian regions and universities cooperating with the Oxford Russia Fund. The students presented their projects under the guidance of Natalya Fedotova, the Associate Professor of the Department of the Theory, History and Philosophy. The Nelly Vasilyeva’s project is connected with the conception based on the symbolic connection of the city with the famous person. The Tatyana Ilyina’s work “My City!” is aimed to create a depiction of the most significant places in Veliky Novgorod with the help of drawings and dwellers’ mind maps research. Both students work in research groups supported by the Russian Fundamental Research Fund and Novgorod Region grants. The victory in this contest lets the future culture experts to participate in the creative workshop “University and City”, which will give them a unique opportunity to attend the leading creative experts’ masterclasses in May. According to the information provided by the Oxford Russia Fund, the events, methods and facts, connected with the workshops will become a part of interuniversity newsletter. And the urban studies of the Workshop participants will be published in the Collection of scientific articles. The strategy of workshop lead by Elena Zelentsova, who is the vice-president, the faculty member of the Moscow School of Social and Economic Sciences, and the director of Development of the Urban Environment of the Skolkovo Innovation Center, anticipates further development of a research and implementation of the projects, which develop connections between the city and the University.
