08.12.2015  A welcome reception for young researchers, advanced and undergraduate students

Today, Novgorod State University celebrates Prince Yaroslav’s day. In the morning, a welcome reception for young NovSU researchers, advanced and undergraduate students was held. More than eighty participants had been invited to it.

Rector of Novgorod State University Prof., Viktor Weber congratulated students and young researchers on their success and reminded them of the University history: ‘I hope all of you know why our University got its name. It’s because Prince Yaroslav-the-Wise's personal seal was discovered in 1994. Academician Yanin, Russian chief archeologist suggested giving the University the name of the Russian prince. 

All the invited were awarded with various certificates on receiving different named scholarships, particularly presidential and governmental ones; on winning in grant competition; certificates of appreciation on success in academic achievements, in sport,  in scientific and creative activities. 

Let us remind you that a solemn meeting and a concert will be held at 3 p.m. at “Acron” Cultural Center. They are devoted to the regional education and science day celebration “Prince Yaroslav’s Day”.  Novgorod Region Governor Sergei Mitin, chairperson of the Regional Duma Elena Pisareva are to take part in the celebration. Two dates are very remarkable: the twentieth anniversary of NovSU Law faculty and the first Russian law code millennium. Prize presentation called 2015's "Lawyer of the Year" will be held here.

This year main NovSU rewards (medals) will be given to Anna Kozina, Director of the School of Agriculture and Natural Resources, to Nikolay Grinev, Novgorod State Museum Adviser to Director General and to Michael Petrov, the Law faculty professor of  NovSU.
