28.10.2014 Students of the Department of Journalism visited The State Hermitage and Saint Isaac's Cathedral in Saint Petersburg On 19 October, students of the Department of Journalism visited The State Hermitage Museum and Saint Isaac's Cathedral in Saint Petersburg. In the Hermitage Museum they had a one and half-hour excursion. Sightseers shared their thoughts: “Of course, it was impossible in such a short period of time to enjoy the splendor of the museum to the full. But even this short overlook allowed us to feel some kind of emotional shock and desire to come back again.” Saint Isaac's Cathedral, which the majority of the group saw for the first time, appeared to be no less impressive. According to them, an amazing story of the origin of the cathedral, layouts of some elements, tremendous mosaic paintings, which were generally recognized at international exhibitions, wall paintings, the interior – all those things were extremely charming and captivating. Participants of the excursion added: “Next time, we will certainly climb on the colonnade of the cathedral, as this time we could not take a delight in this masterpiece because of the sleet and chilly wind.” Students are very thankful to the NovSU Trade Union and University leadership for the fascinating trip and excellent organization. Everybody remarked that the driver was very responsive and the food was delicious. On the whole, it was a pleasant experience for them. English |
