11.11.2017 A book "The Novgorod Cross", written by a Professor of Novgorod State University, was presented in the library "Veda" for the blind and visually impaired On November 9, a presentation of the first part of the book "The Novgorod Cross" took place in Novgorod regional special library "Veda" for the blind and visually impaired. Its author, Mikhail Petrov, is a Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor and a Chair of State History and Law at the NovSU Law Faculty. During presentation of the book, he told about the interaction between the State and the Russian Orthodox Church in the 20th century, answered the questions. The floor was also given to readers and colleagues of the author. One of the readers, who is visually impaired, commented: "This book is a hard work: behind every person there is a history of his family, his parish.” He was especially pleased to see the author's objectivism, his intent to show unvarnished history". The participants expressed their wish to publish the book in full volume. An audio edition of the book was prepared in a special format for the blind with crypto LKF, which sounds about 20 hours and allows the visually impaired of Novgorod region and other regions to get acquainted with the book.
