16.09.2010 NovSU scholars took part in the 8th International Conference “Education and Civil Society”
On 6-10 September 2010, eight NovSU scholars took part in the 8th International Conference “Education and Civil Society” organized by International Academy for the Humanization of Education, Liepaja University and University of Hildesheim in Liepaja, Latvia.
Total amount of the Conference participants was 109 scholars from twelve countries - Germany, Latvia, Russia, Lithuania, Switzerland, Canada, United States of America, Czech Republic, Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, Romania.
During the Conference plenary meetings and sections the following themes were discussed:
1. Society: Historically developed foundations for democratic education and upbringing today.
2. School:
One-way street of educating elites – the way to equality.
3. University: Initiatives towards excellence – the future of the universities
