On September 17, Committee for International Affairs consisting of members of NovSU Academic Council held its first meeting on this academic year.

Opening the meeting, the Vice Rector for International Affairs, Professor Mikhail Pevzner underlined that despite complicated political situation, international cooperation of the NovSU continues. Only this September, ten various international delegations from representatives of social organizations to students from all over the world came to the NovSU.

For the first time in the history of the Committee, the report on international activity has been presented on the level of academic department. The Chair of Department of Vocational Pedagogical Education and Social Management, Roza Sheraizina informed us about the organization and the effects of its international activity. She also told that the Department had participated in many international educational programs for the recent ten years: “Personnel Management”, “Management of School Innovative Activity”, “Double-Diploma (Bachelor-Master programs in Education)”, “Multilevel Specialists’ Training in Educational Management”, “Network Interaction of Partner-Universities in Realization of the Three-Cycle Training in Educational Management” and others. The results of these projects have beem successfully used in department’s educational programs that are in a great demand. Additionally, Roza Sheraizina remarked that they are going to launch international accreditation for the graduate program in Educational Management. That will allow the Department to come to an international stage.

Natalia Ilyashenko, Head of Information and Analysis Section told about applying digital technology to international cooperation. She noticed that political and economical blockade of Russia was the greatest challenge for traditional international cooperation. Dramatic ruble decline made it impossible to continue academic mobility. Political confrontation and mutual sanctions must not influence universities’ collaboration. As for digital technology, professors will have an opportunity to maintain and enlarge informational ties, participate in common presentations at international conferences. At present the University is about to work on the joint online-course “Global Leadership”. This project will be realized by the NovSU Department of Vocational Pedagogical Education and Social Management and by the Department of Leadership and Educational Studies of Appalachian State University, NC.
