Information Technologies in Translation (4 cr., offered on request) 

Course Aim: The discipline is designed for presenting the basic methods of personal computer and information technology usage for the purposes of translation of special literature in the field of their professional activity.

Course Objectives:
–   acquiring of knowledge of using IT in translator profession;
–   acquisition of skills of using electronic dictionaries, translation memory bases, machine translators and other IT recourses for translation;
–   learning the methods of information seeking in the Internet;
–   mastering of the techniques of text massifs processing and formatting.

Prerequisite: Information science.
