Социальная сегрегация в контексте британского урбанистического дискурса (на примере The Guardian)

Рассматриваются проблемы социальной сегрегации и их отражение в британском урбанистическом дискурсе. Городское планирование и застройка — болезненный вопрос, вскрывающий проблемы разделения горожан по социальному признаку. Изоляция детских площадок, отсутствие доступа к ним выросли в городской дискурс о социальной дискриминации, введя в дискурсивное поле многочисленных акторов, представляющих дискурс власти и дискурс горожан. Урбанистический дискурс стал основой взаимодействия участников в решении проблем открытости городской среды и социального благополучия горожан. Лингвистический и дискурсивный анализ ситуации позволил определить позиции участников, выявить их восприятие проблемы и понять когнитивные схемы, определяющие их вербальное поведение, а также дал возможность проследить динамику взаимодействия акторов и сделать выводы о возможности решения данной проблемы.

Social segregation in the context of British urban discourse (a case study of The Guardian)

The article discusses the problems of social segregation and their reflection in the British urban discourse. Urban planning and development is a painful issue raising concerns for dividing citizens on a social basis. The segregated playgrounds and the lack of access to them have grown into urban discourse on social discrimination, introducing numerous actors that represent the discourse of power and that of citizens into the discursive field. Urban discourse has become the basis for the interaction of participants in solving the problems of an unfriendly urban environment and the social well-being of citizens. A linguistic and discourse analysis of the situation made it possible to determine the perception of the problem form the viewpoint of the participants, and understand the cognitive schemes that determined their verbal behavior. It also provided useful insights into the dynamics of the actors’ interaction and allowed the authors to draw conclusions about the possibility of solving this problem.
